Learning “Living Japanese” Enjoyably. Pasadena Gakuen was founded 1n 1935 and joined Kyodo System in 1955. Pasadena Gakuen uses the classrooms of Roosevelt Elementary School which is located in the north of Old Pasadena, and a quiet residential area close to the Rose Bowl. Pasadena Gakuen offers K -12 classes. It also has the Basic Japanese courses for high school students who started to learn Japanese after they become teenagers. Every Saturday morning, students study “living Japanese” willingly. There are Japanese classes for the adults that emphasise on developing the conversational skills.
The school puts great efforts in introducing the traditional culture and custom of Japan, and once a month, the teachers bring out a theme and explain it in classes. There are extra curriculum activities such as Japanese calligraphy, flower arrangement demonstration are offered.
